Hello SWOS Friends,

in the last weeks we do a lot stuff behind the gaming scene. Redhair made some beautiful tactic viewer and replay watcher, which are big milestones in our community. It is a pleasure to have these features online after 25 years of SWOS Online Gaming. 

In former times i was also very active in a lot of competitions like ASL, APL, National, ISSF and some more. But then i got my hand broke and i needed some months of rest. But in this time I could develop finally a more stable and comfortable system for our beloved game. The new Community system will have better API points and will be more usable for users. 

There will be also some additional extras like a bomberman clone or super cars revival for our community, and a lot more ^^ ...

Thx god KI wont kill us, but it helps a lot to hold this SWOS Community still alive. It was needed, then old system is getting really old and we need some new stuff of admin of tournaments or leagues. Soon i will do another small video to show, how progress is going. Currently i am testing a lot of API features. 

Maybe we can also implement some kind of SWOS football manager. It is all in development and still testing.

So the date for the system change will be in winter season maybe before or after christmas. I am not sure yet. But then we dont need to hurry to much. I hope we need only 1 to 3 days for migrating, so that the gaming break is not the big.

4. London Calling

Now edition number 9 and really a great event now hosted by Lobo in a London pub

Sensible Days 2026, the 23rd edition of the tournament took place from the 17-19th of July. Organised by wugbaspin (Ben) with assistance from Theologistic and the rest of the UK based guys, SWOS 'came home' to the UK for the first time, with the event taking place in Burwell House near Cambridge - not too far from the game's birthplace in Norwich.

As ever, people travelled from around Europe to attend, with Playaveli even flying in from San Diego just for the weekend! We also had some new faces which was great to see, as well a face we all know: the game's desinger and all round legend Jon Hare.

Saturday saw the Amiga tournament, with 33 players taking part, played on 6 Amigas. After a group stage that went largely to form, we were treated to a live musical performance from Jon Hare, who performed 3 songs with his guitar - Goal Scoring Superstar Hero, plus two familiar tracks from Cannon Fodder. A unique show and one that everyone will remember!

In the Amiga knockouts, we had two first-time semi finalists in crom1 and thd79, with the latter managing to prevail. The other semi final was one for the ages, with Playa and Blazej playing out three draws before finally Blazej gained the upper hand.

The final was a similar affair, with thd79 forcing a set of replays, before Blazej's class saw throgh, with the GOAT taking his 10th title. Event organizer Wugbaspin put in a great performance to take the carrot cup from xflea.

The PC version of the tournament took place on Sunday with 20 players battling it out. Playaveli timed his peak to perfection, and after missing out on qualification to the master group, grew stronger as the tournament progressed. Bobbiebobras was in strong form, knocking out previous finalist AndYpsilion before falling to Blazej in the semis.

The final of Playaveli v Blazej gave the former a chance for revenge after the previous day's defeat. It proved to be another classic, which saw Playa take the title thanks to a last minute goal-line clearance transformed into a counterattack goal. Many thanks to the Dutch crew for supplying the equipment; it wouldn't have been possbile without you!

Alongside the PC cup was the Classic Sensi Cup, in which crowd favourite Fifko went on a fairytale run to the final, wher he found himself leading Blazej 2-0 at halftime. However as normal, Blazej was able to find a way to win, and the upset was avoided. Nevertheless Fifko was able to take consolation by winning the PC Carrot Cup, beating FRK Pawel to the title.

Huge thanks are due to Wugbaspin for his organization of a superb event, to all those who helped him (Theologistic especially), and to everyone who took the time and expense to join us for a memorable weekend. Hopefully it won't be another 23 years before SWOS 'comes home' again.

Its coming home to Cambridge / England this year. 

Finally the official SWOS World Cup take place in the country where our beloved game was developed.

We have a small tournament or maybe more at the Retro Games Market in Berlin where a lot of people sell or buy old gaming stuff. A bit of cosplay is also there.

We have a small table with my (working) amiga (thx to the danish crew) and some different controllers, where people just can try to play SWOS. I will also show SWOS 2020 Version to interested people. I am not sure to play, maybe with some gamepad. But i hope we will find a lot new german players there.

I will also write a small review after the weekend.
